Foggy Basin Season 3 with R.A. Frick

R.A. Frick is here to talk about Fruit and Flash!

What do you love about writing Foggy Basin?

It has been fun to join a shared world and feel like my characters are truly living in a fleshed out town!

Who are your characters for season three?
This is my first season joining Foggy Basin, but these characters were in my Foggy Basin Pride Short.

Hayes is a farmer with a fruit stand on the main road. He is shy and closeted until a certain flashy, social media influencer, Kai, comes into town.

What can readers expect from your book?
Fruit and Flash is a sweet romcom.
I didn’t want my characters going through any angst, I just want them to be happy!

Who are your favourite romance authors to read?
That’s impossible to answer, because so many are my friends. But Lucy Lennox is one I read when I want something that I know will be fast and easy and well written.

What are your favourite tropes?

My favorite trips to read are extremely varied and depend on my mood. Some days I want dark enemies to lovers, other times I want only one bed romcom. I don’t really have at least favorite.

Are you an early bird or night owl?
I’m more of a midday to afternoon owl, but I’m not a night owl anymore.

Coffee, tea or hot chocolate?
I enjoy coffee if it taste like hot chocolate, and tea iced in warm months, hot in the winter, usually fruity!

Star Wars or Star Trek?
Star Wars for me, but I also enjoy Star Trek with my wife

If you could transform into any animal, what would you choose and why?
I used to say a tiger, but I feel like they are hunted. Now I think I’d want to be a pampered house cat who also gets to go outside whenever I want.

What do you snack on while you write?

In the morning it’s usually something light, and lunch I eat a meal first, but it usually involves cheese.

Do you have a writing routine? If so, please describe it
I need to clear all notifications and check all emails, get a snack, play music I know, enter a time on my tracking sheet, and then I jump in!

What’s the best book you’ve read this year?
Can I say two? I’d say Wild’s End and Ziggy‘s Voice by Saxon James really stuck with me as hurt/comfort, grumpy/sunshine, off the grid rom coms with heart and some angst.
