Foggy Basin! Meet Jem Wendel!

Foggy Basin Season Three Welcome to Jem Wendel!

Today’s Interviewee is Jem Wendel

What do you love about writing Foggy Basin?
I’m a huge fan of writing small town books, it’s my main trope. What makes Foggy Basin special is being able to collaorate with other authors. Shared characters, shared scenes and of course the chat about our stories. I was thrilled to be included this year.

Who are your characters for season three?
We have Zane, born and bred in Foggy Basin. He owns a Hay Farm and has recently taken over the feed store. Then there is Devin. He’s English but has been in the US for seven years. He’s a Truck driver, but finds himself in Foggy Basin and in need of a temporary job.

What can readers expect from your book?
Zane and Devin don’t exactly hit it off. Zane is cold and seems to actively dislike Devin. So readers will be discovering why that is the case and how they warm to each other. It will be a slow burn, double bi-awakening. Along with a bit of forced proximity and only one bed.

What are your favourite tropes?
Did I mention Small Town? I love a bit of age gap, friends to lovers, and pretty much most of them. For me it is the premise of the book, not the tropes which interests me.

Who are your favourite romance authors to read?
I’m terrible as I don’t have any outstanding favourites. I’ll try any one and I’m a slow reader.

Are you an early bird or night owl?
A night owl for sure.

Coffee, tea or hot chocolate?
Cut me and I bleed tea

Star Wars or Star Trek?
Oh the ever devisive question. It is possible to enjoy both. However I will come down on the side of Star Wars. And Rogue One is the best film (A hill I’m willing to die on)

If you could transform into any animal, what would you choose and why?
Hmm, maybe a hare. There is something really cool and magical about hares.

What do you snack on while you write?
I don’t tend to snack. I don’t get a chance to write for long periods of time where snacks are necessary. I write in the cracks of life.

Do you have a writing routine? If so, please describe it
No, I write whenever i can fit it in.

What’s the best book you’ve read this year?
Hidden Potential by Adam Grant. No not fiction, but still the best book I’ve read.
