Friendy Friday with Marie Booth and Book Festival Recap!

Greetings! The Rock 'n' Romance blog has been on a bit of a hiatus since the end of March as I dove into Camp NaNoWriMo trying to write an entire novel in a month. I've come close. Total word count is close to 45,000 words and I still have three days so I think I'll make it. I've been working on three or four things, though, so the novel isn't complete yet. But it will be!

I'm excited to bring you the latest release from Marie Booth today. Marie was brave enough to take the World's Most Dangerous Interview challenge and is here to share about her April 30th release, Stroke. MMMMM I think this is going to be a hot one!

World's Most Dangerous Interview:

  1. Name a liquid you’ve shot out of your nose while laughing… bonus points for what made you laugh. Chocolate Milk - My brother made me laugh.

  2. What’s your favorite music to dance to? Salsa. Not that I can do the salsa but I like to pretend I can

  3. Name the first book you read as a young person with sexy times in it. How many times did you read it? Peyton Place. My friend lent it to me and I had to hide it under the bed and my mom found it and I got in big trouble. I only read it once...lol

  4. What is the most fascinating thing you’ve discovered because of writing? I love to really torture my characters...but only so they can get stronger.

  5. Name a reading guilty pleasure Male/Male Romance. I'm addicted. Sometimes I sob its so good.

  6. Which book boyfriend/girlfriend (wither one you’ve read or written) sets the standard for all heroes/heroines in your writing? Jamie Fraser.

  7. Name a book that scared the bejeebers out of you and why it scared you. Oh god, there was one where someone was trapped underground in a cave in and I'm soooo claustrophobic, I couldn't sleep for days.

  8. If you had to choose a movie or book to live in, what would it be? Ugh. I don't know. Someplace with magic definitely. Maybe I could be a Hogwarts teacher (after Voldemort died)

  9. Name your author superpower and how does it come out in your writing? I write with tons of heart. I hope that's a superpower.

  10. Which book do you wish you’d written? Whatever my new favorite book is. I just read Frenchman's Creek by Daphne du Maurier. I loved that pirate.

  11. Which musical describes your life? Used to be Rent...lol I guess now it's kind of Finding Neverland. I'd like it to be something fun like Hairspray.

Releases April 30

Damien’s screwed. His father’s been kidnapped and the erotic art collection he’s been forced to steal needs a restoration expert in a hurry. Cassandra’s his last hope but she’s having doubts, questioning his story, making his muscles hard with tension. He’s going to have to find a way to ease her mind, because the sexy, spirited Cassandra can never find out the paintings were stolen.

Cassandra’s in trouble. Her art studio is in financial ruin, restoration jobs are few and far between and the most gorgeous man in San Francisco has just offered her a job working on one of the greatest collections of her career. The only problem – the work has to be done at his house and her skin is already tingling with desire whenever he gets close. Can she trust him? Trust comes with truth and she’s been burned before.

Available for PreOrder on Amazon

Oh this one looks hot. Damn hot. Congratulations to Marie on this new release! Be sure to check out her website for her other great books. My favorite is Dying for a Bite. So fun and sexy.

In other news, I attended the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books this past weekend with Dreamspinner Press and met some GREAT folks. I had Korean BBQ in Koreatown with Rhys Ford, Bru Baker, CS Poe, Andrew Grey and Rick R. Reed and it was AWESOME! I should have taken more pictures but I didn't want to be a pest. As it was, I was threatened with a pillow smothering for offering to pay for the Lyft haha. But it was incredibly awesome for me to see Hurricane Reese all gorgeous on the shelf with other gorgeous books. I'm very proud to be published by Dreamspinner and I hope to continue my relationship with them.

I was also interviewed for the Big Gay Fiction Podcast, which was a BLAST! Jeff Adams and Will Knauss are amazing. I really had a wonderful time talking with them and then listening to their shows on the drive home. I highly recommend checking them out. Here's the video:

I'm towards the end, but you might want to listen to the other folks as they've got some cool stuff to say including my pal Laura Stone who wrote a SUPER book called It Came To Pass. I loved that book so hard.

That's all for this week! May is an INSANE month and I promise there will be lots of hijinks from RT in Reno! We're talking potential Carpool Karaoke with Cynthia St. Aubin, Kimberlie L. Faye, Ellay Branton and Kerrigan Byrne, more shenanigans with Eva Moore, and visits with my friends from the San Francisco and Silicon Valley RWA chapters. Also, the Giant Book Fair on Saturday will be wild and I'll be sure to post pics!

Stay Tuned for more Rock 'n' Romance!
