New Pics, New Wix Blog, and Rock 'n' Romance News...

Greetings Rockers! Special thanks to Sarah Hansen Photography for the new author pics! I'm slowly changing out the old ones and I just love the new look! Sarah and I and our significant others spent an evening walking around Downtown Hayward looking for the best spots. I love the mural program in the city and I'm happy to showcase a bit of the city that has featured prominently in several of my books. This particular picture was taken in front of the Russell City mural. Russell City was located in what is now an industrial area of Hayward. It was known for being a hot spot for after parties when blues musicians came through and played clubs in Oakland and San Francisco. I'm fascinated with the history of how the town came to be, and it's demise in the 1960's. Stay tuned for more about that in the near future.

I'm also testing the new Wix Blog feature here and if it's as awesome as they claim, I'll be switching to this for future blog posts BUT all of my previous posts will still be available. I love bringing you interviews with authors I dig and respect, and I will also try to get in more Merrill's Musings when inspiration strikes!

As for the latest news: Please join us in Hayward at Books on B Saturday, August 17th for Bookstore Romance Day! This lineup is fabulous and I can't wait to see everyone!

And the following weekend, I will join area authors at the San Mateo Public Library to do a reading for their Romance Day! Any idea which book I should read from? I'm thinking one of the old school Rock 'n' Romance books. Thoughts? Email me!

Of course then we have the inaugural Romance Retreat in Riverside, CA. I can't wait to see everyone there!
