Friendy Friday and GIVEAWAY with Royal Blue/Blue Saffire!

Happy Friday, Rockers!

I hope your first Friday of August is groovy. I'm jamming to some new Volbeat this morning. Seeing them last weekend with Slipknot was incredible. We were fairly close and I swear, Michael Paulsen has the voice of an angel. I've been working fiendishly to finish the next book after Shifted as part of the Magic and Mayhem Universe, which will be out late October AND I'm writing the second Summer of Hush, the first one comes out October 8th! SO excited. I had a great time at Warped Tour and learned so much. I hope you guys love this series as much as I love writing it. I'm also gearing up for some local appearances as well as The Romance Retreat in SoCal. There are still tickets available, so get yours! For more details, visit my Facebook page or message me!

I had the pleasure of meeting the lovely Royal Blue at Booklovers Con in New Orleans this spring and I'm really excited to have her on the Rock 'n' Romance Blog today! Besides the face that she is STUNNING with her blue hair, she's a fantastic author. Her debut with Dreamspinner Press came out recently—Kyle's Reveal, and it's a hot one—and she also writes m/f romance under Blue Saffire! I hope you'll all join me in welcoming Ms. Blue to the blog today by checking out her interview.

1. Give us a visual of you dancing. The Carlton? Napoleon Dynamite? Solid Gold?

Salt and Pepper - Push it. Hahahaha

A favorite from back in the day! Awesome!

2. What’s one thing every reader should know about you?

Once you because one of my readers you're family in my head. LOL

3. What’s your worst habit as a writer?

Getting so lost in writing that my house becomes a mess.

WAIT! That's a bad habit?

4. Ever get caught reading/writing sexy times in an awkward place/time/situation?

No, but I dare people to read over my shoulder. LOL They get something to talk about.

5. What is the best reader response you’ve ever received?

Being told that my books helped them through illness. I had one reader email a few days before she passed away to tell of the escape I was offering her from Lupus. She was encouraging me while she was going through. That will stick with me for life. I cried so hard when her family posted she was gone.

That's huge. We'll have to compare stories.

6. What is the most fascinating/creepy/disgusting thing you’ve discovered because of writing?

Penis piercing and the variety of them. There's so much to learn about them. Did you know males with Prince Albert piercing tend to sit and pee.

A hint to my readers...I've been doing similar research bwahahahaha.

7. Name a book that scared the bejeebers out of you and why it scared you.

I don't think I've read it yet.

8. What music inspires you?

The Purple rain soundtrack. 50 Cent can get me out of a funk as well.

Prince. Sigh.

9. Did a teacher in school ever encourage or discourage your desire to write? Care to share?

I can't name one teacher. I think they all collective had a hand in molding where I'd go with my career in the future.

10. What's your favorite genre to write? And...what's a genre you haven't written but would LOVE to write?

Paranormal anything. I love getting lost in the world of magic. The imagery of it all draws me in. Building the worlds, leaving readers breathless with magic.

11. What accomplishment are you most proud of?

Pulling readers into every book with me. If I have invoked an emotion, I'm happy.

Here's a little more about Blue:

The color blue is known for trust and healing as are the words of author Royal Blue. Blue started writing books to heal herself after losing her mother to breast cancer in 2007, followed by a miscarriage only eight months later. Books and words were one of the things that held her together. As a young girl, Blue's mother introduced her to the world of love and music through movies like Seven Brides For Seven Brothers, Bye Bye Birdie, and Neptune's Daughter. Once she got her hands on books that sucked her into the magic that pages bring, an authoress was born. A story here, a few songs there, but she actually didn't complete a manuscript until 2009. However, books were piling up and collecting dust as fear clung and whispered evil thoughts. Yet, fear was silenced in 2015. Needing to write in order to breathe and wanting to share, Blue Saffire, Royal's alter ego, rose from the ashes and entered the world. The self-proclaimed hermit was born in Far Rockaway, NY, but is now a Long Island resident with her loving and supportive husband. The two work round the clock creating music and characters. There is no shortage of laughter or creativity in their home. Never in a million years did she think the passion that saved her sanity would allow her to walk around with blue hair and spend her days dreaming of hot men to put on paper. After all, an MBA in Marketing and Project Management, as well as a MED in Curriculum Design and Instructional Technology, tell a very different story. Although, it's safe to say Royal would rather be doing something Blue with her time.

Be sure to check out her books and follow her in all the places!

Hope you enjoyed meeting Blue and I know I can't wait until I have a free night to dive into her books!

I'd love to hear who you would like to see on the Rock 'n' Romance Blog! I've got some great guests coming up, but I'm happy to feature folks you'd like to meet. Shoot me an email with some suggestions and I'll choose a winner to receive a Royal Blue/Blue Saffire ebook! Closes 8/5.

Stay Tuned for more Rock 'n' Romance...
