Friendy Friday with Kerrigan Byrne

I'm here tonight to bring you news about the latest release from the incomparable historical romance author, Kerrigan Byrne. I've shared news about her releases previously on Friendy Friday, but I can never say enough about her Victorian Rebels series, and honestly, about how awesome she is. The Duke with the Dragon Tattoo comes out Tuesday and if you have been living under a rock and haven't discovered her series, well, it's bloody well time you did.

Kerrigan and I met about five or six years ago online and she's been like a sister from another mister ever since. Not only is she there for me when it comes to authory questions, but she's there to help me navigate the raising teenaged girls gig, commiserates with me when life gives me lemons, and sends me virtual hugs whenever I need them. And honestly, you know you've got a good friend when she poses for you at RT with your book cover... Yes, this is her getting up close and personal along with Cynthia St. Aubin, her partner in crime, next to the lovely cover for Hurricane Reese. How many friends can YOU name that would do that for you? That's what I thought! I'm one lucky gal to have her and Cynthia in my corner.

But back to Kerrigan and her latest book in the Victorian Rebels series...

We started with The Highwayman, the tale of Dorian Blackwell, a former inmate at Newgate Prison who has become one of the most wealthy and influential men in Victorian London. Then there's his associate, reknowned Assassin Christopher Argent, who will ALWAYS be my favorite... But then we meet the Demon Highlander Liam MacKenzie who is completely irresistible, and then there's the naughty Earl of Thorne, and the legendary Duke of Trenwyth... All of them swoon-worthy, all of them connected, all of them unputdownable reads.

These books are hot. They are as gritty as the streets of the London Underground, as swealtering as an unseasonably warm summer night, and as thrilling as the hunt to a hunter... The Victorian Rebels series takes you from London, to the wilds of Scotland, and even to the American West (briefly, but breathtakingly), and I cannot WAIT to read this latest installment. Take a look for yourself:

Oh yeah... Meet The Rook...

The bravest of heroes. The brashest of rebels. The boldest of lovers. These are the men who risk their hearts and their souls—for the passionate women who dare to love them…

He is known only as The Rook. A man with no name, no past, no memories. He awakens in a mass grave, a magnificent dragon tattoo on his muscled forearm the sole clue to his mysterious origins. His only hope for survival—and salvation—lies in the deep, fiery eyes of the beautiful stranger who finds him. Who nurses him back to health. And who calms the restless demons in his soul…

A LEGENDARY LOVE

Lorelai will never forget the night she rescued the broken dark angel in the woods, a devilishly handsome man who haunts her dreams to this day. Crippled as a child, she devoted herself to healing the poor tortured man. And when he left, he took a piece of her heart with him. Now, after all these years, The Rook has returned. Like a phantom, he sweeps back into her life and avenges those who wronged her. But can she trust a man who’s been branded a rebel, a thief, and a killer? And can she trust herself to resist him when he takes her in his arms?

“Byrne is a force in the genre.”—RT Book Reviews

Kerrigan has also written a series of indie published books dealing with magic and mischief during Medieval times, and she's written sinister suspense in A Righteous Kill. The woman can do anything, even bellydance, and frankly, she's just amazing. So check out this series. If you think you can handle the lusciousness of the audio, which is narrated by the incredible Derek Perkins, I highly recommend them as well but do not listen if you are in the presence of others, or weak of heart. They will make your pulse race for sure.
