Friendy Friday with the glamorous Kerrigan Byrne

Kerrigan Byrne is a mentor, a collaborator, an instigator, and an inspirator. I’m damn glad to have her as my pal and on my blog this Friendy Friday!
I met this lovely lady years ago when she was releasing these incredibly hot indie romances that made me stop thinking historicals were boring. From Banshees to Berzerkers, from ladies to witches, I will follow her books til the end of time. She’s also so much fun to get in trouble with!
Her Victorian Rebels series from St. Martins Press have been a huge hit and so delectable I crave the next one almost so much I consider flying to her home and staring through the window just to get a peek, although that might be considered breaking the law? In the meantime, I gobble up her books whenever possible. The Hunter is still my favorite for her excellent villain-creation skills, The Highlander mesmerized me in audio, and this latest one, The Scot Beds his Wife... phew... so hot. Her heroine’s journey in this story is probably one of my favorite of all time.
Want to get to know the lady behind the Rebels? Look no further than The World’s Most Dangerous Interview! Ms. Byrne was brave enough to take the challenge and live to tell the story. Not really, but it sounds better that way.
The World’s Most Dangerous Interview 1. Name a liquid you’ve shot out of your nose while laughing… bonus points for what made you laugh. 1. The most painful was a Wendy’s frosty. It was in high school and my gay best friend and I were messing around, and he stood up and told me in a perfect chorus-line musical style to stop acting so gay. Jazz hands and everything. I snorted a frosty (chocolate, if you must know) out my nose and we both died laughing. 2. What’s your favorite music to dance to? 1. I like to dance to middle eastern music! (belly dance) but when I’m bopping around the house, I favor really aggressive lady rap. i.e. Azalea Banks, Angel Haze, and Hola by Sno Tha Product. 3. Name the first book you read as a young person with sexy times in it. How many times did you read it? 1. I’m having a hard time remembering. When I was 13 my older sister literally had a BUCKET (why a bucket? I now wonder) of harlequins that her best friend’s grandma gave her. I stole most of them because she was going to throw them away, and that was my introduction to “grown up” romance. I’d only ever read Victoria Holt before then. I remember most of them were harlequin blaze. However, I can’t recall any of their titles. In my defense, 13 was a long time ago… 4. What is the most fascinating thing you’ve discovered because of writing? 1. I think my research into Victorian forensics is the most interesting. It’s this bananas amalgamation of science and spiritualism. 5. Name a reading guilty pleasure 1. I’m not MUCH of a pop culture junky, but I do LOVE to read memoirs written by celebrities. Especially comedians. I devour them because I’m a nosy writer who really enjoys behind the curtain. 6. Which book boyfriend/girlfriend (wither one you’ve read or written) sets the standard for all heroes/heroines in your writing? 1. I’d say Jericho Barons from KMM’s Fever Series. He’s just… the best and the worst! 7. Name a book that scared the bejeebers out of you and why it scared you. 1. Its funny because I LOVE to read horror and I always have. I grew up on Bram Stoker, the Shelly’s, Anne Rice, Stephen King, and Thomas Harris. I adored them all. But the one book that horrified me was Flowers In the Attic. I picked it up in the middle school library and I was literally disturbed the entire time I read it! 8. If you had to choose a movie or book to live in, what would it be? 1. Tough choice! I would say probably Game of Thrones. With the caveat that I be one of the characters who survives and keeps all of their limbs… 9. Name your author superpower and how does it come out in your writing? 1. My author superpower is finding as many distractions as possible and taking 200 years to write 200 words! 10. Which book do you wish you’d written? 1. Omg. I wish I could have written something dark and twisty and brilliant like Gone Girl or the Hannibal Lecter series. 11. Which musical describes your life? 1. Hmmmm… I feel like the musical hasn’t been written yet. Maybe. “Insomnia and Netflix, A love story.” Or, “My fuzzy bathrobe, A Musical” Or, “I’m not hungry, but I could eat…a whole pizza,” That one’s probably a hip hopera… Thank you so much for having me, Ro! You are the very best!
